Sunset in the peaks.
On Sunday afternoon, Matt and I headed out to the Roaches in the Peak District to watch the sunset. It's something we used to do quite a lot when we were dating, and it's actually the place that Matt proposed to me two years ago!! (in fact, Sunday was the day before the two year mark since Matt proposed!!) But since being married and both working, we haven't found the time to venture out there as much as we used to (also, it's been winter, so it's not exactly been outdoors weather!)
But the sun was out on Sunday, and even though it was cold (and icy, I slipped and fell on some ice!) we decided it was worth braving the cold temperatures to see the sunset! It's such a lovely place to visit. We took some photo's whilst we were there, which I'll share in this post!
Do you have a place that's special to you? Maybe it's a place that you used to go to with your parents growing up, or somewhere that you met someone special, or like us it could be a place that reminds you of happy, exciting times in your life.
It's funny how places can do that, how they can bring back emotions and memories so tangibly. I find there are certain places that I visit that just feel like home when I'm there, regardless of whether I've even visited that place before or not! There's only a couple of places where I've felt that super strongly, but it's always so nice when it happens. I wonder what other places will become homes for me as I experience even more of this beautiful world!
