Coldingham Bay Motherhood Session |Giorgia & Navy

The ocean is a constant source of inspiration for my work, even on rainy, dark, foggy days like this one. In fact, there’s something even more magic about rainy days, the way they force you to cuddle together, to take deep breaths, to embrace the world around you and truly ground ourself in each moment. It shows through so clearly and so beautifully in photos.

Giorgia & Navy braved the elements for this motherhood session and I just love the way these images turned out. One of the reasons I love working with mothers is because I feel their connection to their children so strongly, it’s such a beautiful thing to witness and an incredible thing to capture. I know the importance of these images, I know how we as mothers look back on photos of our babies as they grow and remember loving that little baby so much in those moments, in every stage of their lives we love them, and we get to love them over and over again as they grow and change so quickly.

If I could give any advice to a new mum, it would be to get in the photo, forget for amount any insecurities about your new postpartum body, forget the hairloss, forget the bags under your eyes from endless nights rocking and soothing your babe; be in the photos with your children because to them, you are the most beautiful thing in the whole world.

Here is a selection of my favourite images from this sweet session.
